Importance of IONM during Scoliosis surgery

 Dr. Rania Al Mahdy, M.D. Clinical Neurophysiology from Cairo University, explains the importance of intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) during spinal cord tumor resection surgeries. The neurosurgeons undertaking this surgery are Dr. Ehab Al Refaie and Dr. Ahmed Abd-al-Rahman (@EG Neuroclinics).
 

  Dr. Rania Al Mahdy provided intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) of an anteroposterior fixation of cervical fracture and discectomy. Dr. Hazem Abdel Badie, Professor of Neurosurgery & Spine surgery at Cairo University, undertook this surgery in two stages.   In this video, Dr. Al Mahdy explains the importance of IONM during both stages of surgery. Then Dr. Abdel Badie provides post surgical commentary to evaluate the outcome of the surgery & the role of IONM in achieving this outcome
